The Annual Meeting of the Friends of the Melbourne Beach Library is the first Tuesday of March at 6:00 PM in the Library Meeting Room. The 2012 Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 6:00 PM

The Mission Statement of the Friends: to build an outstanding working partnership between the
library and the community that produces enhanced library resources, services, and facilities.

The Friends of the Melbourne Beach Library is an organization of concerned citizens who share the
belief that the Public Library is a valuable cultural, educational, and recreational resource for the entire
community.

Friends activities include:

Promoting and Publicizing Library Services
Publishing a newsletter to communicate progress and activities
Raising supplemental funds for the library through book sales, membership dues and other fundraisers.
Sponsoring programs and lectures such as author visits and films.
Sponsoring programs and special events for families.
Purchasing books, equipment, furnishings and other items to enhance and enrich library services.

Since 2002 the Friends have been instrumental in the enhancement of resources and services the library
can provide by purchasing high demand bestsellers and recently released DVD’s. They also have sponsored
numerous children’s and adult programs at no charge to members of the community.
